Setting up the test environment for S3C6410 Development Board

The previous chapters mainly describe the installation and construction of the native Linux Android development environment and the porting of the Android system. This chapter focuses on how to install Android on the Development Board. Development boards are the main hardware devices for developing and learning embedded technologies, and since many Linux-driven hardware is difficult to emulate on a PC, debugging and testing on the development Board is a good fit for debugging the underlying Linux program.

This book mainly introduces the s3c6410 Development Board and the OK6410 Development Board. The OK6410 Development Board is based on the ARM11 processor s3c6410, using the "core version + Backplane" structure.

OK6410 Development Board comes with a serial port, the PC also needs to communicate with the serial device. Ubuntu Linux installation serial debugging tool minicom steps:

1th Step: Detect whether the current system supports USB to serial port

2nd Step: Install Minicom

3rd Step: Configure Minicom

4th Step: Test minicom

OK6410 default installation WinCE6.0, you need to uninstall and install Android, burn write to start Eboot erase Nandflash, Method:

2nd step: Enter Eboot state

3rd Step: Erase Nandflash

Then burn to write Android:

1th Step: Prepare for work

2nd step: Write Mmc.bin and zimage-sd.bin to SD card

3rd step: Burn and write the pre-Android preparation work

4th step: Start burning from SD card to write Android

5th step: Calibrate the screen

After completing these steps, you can configure a wired network for the Development Board, set up the IP, subnet mask, and gateway for the development class manually, set the IP and subnet masks with the Linux command Ifconfig, and set up the gateway with the route command.

The Development Board is an important hardware tool for learning Linux driver Development, and we must learn to understand and use it.
