Step 1: Start Ubuntu 12.04 (operations in other versions of ubuntu are similar)
1. On the vmwarevm interface, click VM-> install VMware Tools. Click the main file button in the Ubuntu window, and then the VMware Tools Folder is displayed on the left. Double-click the folder, decompress the compressed file, and copy it to the main folder. 2. Open the terminal, enter the decompressed folder, and enter the following command: A) sudo tar zxf VMwareTools-xxx.tar.gz (Note: XXX is the version number) B) CD/vmware-tools-distrib C) sudo./vmware-install.pl Always press enter during installation, or enter [] prompts yes and no until installation is complete. 3. view the result: Lsmod | grep vmblockStep 2: Set the directory of the shared folder 1. Shut down ubuntu (Power Off); otherwise, shared folders cannot be added. 2. In the vmwarevm window, choose VM> Settings> Options> shared folders. 3. Click Add on the right, click Next-> select the win7 shared directory path, and click Next-> select enable this share-> finish 4. On the right side of the VM-> Settings-> options-> shared folders window, select always enabled in the folder sharing column. 5. Click OK to exitBut it is not completed yet. The file sharing can be completed only in step 3. Step 3: Install the plug-in under the Ubuntu Virtual Machine 1. Execute sudo apt-Get install Open-VM-dkms (Note: If you have installed sudo apt-Get install, you do not need to execute this line later) 2. Run sudo Mount-T vmhgfs. HOST: // MNT/HGFS 3. CD/mnt/HGFSNow you can see the shared folder directory of win7 under the/mnt/HGFS directory. Files in the shared folder can be modified in the same system on Linux or Windows 7.
