Shared printers cannot print different documents

With a shared printer, you can print plain text, but if you print a Word document with a specific account, you may be unable to connect successfully.

In this case, you can print plain text, indicating that the printer hardware is normal. Different types of documents do not print correctly, either because of print settings or because of a problem with network access permission settings. You can find the reason based on the following methods.

1. On the computer where the printer is installed, open the System's Printer List window, right-click the shared printer icon, select Properties, and then switch to the Security tab, open Page Setup, and check the page to see if the printer is setting up access rights. If you find that the currently logged on system account does not have print permissions, change the permission to allow, and then test that the Word document will be printed correctly under that account.

2. If the print permissions are not restricted, view the firewall on the computer where the printer is located. If the firewall program starts, turn on the security settings, and check to see if Word is set to prohibit access to the printer, if it is changed to allow, or if the firewall program is turned off.
