This version of Office 2010 offers an exciting new feature that allows multiple people to edit a copy of Office 2010 files at the same time. This is a big breakthrough. In the past, in the context of sharing with SharePoint, the file can only be signed and locked, and then the entire download back to the client editor, and then spread back, the document is signed and others can continue to edit, this way caused a lot of time waiting. So the next generation of office 2010 can be a big change in the efficiency of teamwork.

To achieve the ability to edit files at the same time, the following three techniques are available:
- New Office client-side quick-access technology to store and read files to speed up your future
- SharePoint Server 2010 plays the role of a central communication person and all editors communicate
- Office 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010 only share part of the information, not the entire file.
The file formats that you can use for this feature are:
- OneNote
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
Here's how the process of editing a whole multiplayer edit file
The first editor (Teip_contributor) opens a Word 2010 file that is stored in the SharePoint Server 2010 Web site.
The second editor (Teip_visitor) also opens the Word 2010 file in the same location.
In the lower left corner there will be a list of editors who are currently co-editing this document.
When one of the editors becomes more content, press the file, and another editor will be notified that there will be an event area on the screen, with a different background color showing that the editor can decide whether or not to merge the contents of the interaction with the other person in the album.
The information after the merger is presented.
PS. In Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, the alert is to notify other editors when an editor has pressed the archive. OneNote, however, is a regular self-notification to other editors, and the time interval is short. The main reason is that OneNote is a self-archiving file, so it's time to notify other editors of the differences.
