Loopback check is not a Sharepoint issue. It is a feature introduced by Windows server after Server 2003 SP1 to enhance its security. It has caused a series of problems in recent months.
The main scenarios are:
1. The SharePoint site uses the Host header ).
2. Access the SharePoint site locally.
3. install any of the following patches:
- 1. Accumulated IE security patches (kb963027)
- 2. Internet Explorer 8.
- 3. Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2.
The problem is that the system prompts you to log on when you visit the website. after entering the correct information three times, the system reports error 401.1.
