SLES11 Enable Xmanager

One : open Xmanager to meet a 2 conditions:

1. the Gnome desktop environment is installed and the default boot level is 5

2.IP address is a fixed IP address and cannot be considered as dynamically acquired IP

3. turn off the firewall if you do not shut down to remember to turn on the udp177 Port

two : turn on Xmanager support

1. Enter the command yast2, and open "yastcontrol Center"

2. Select "Network Services"-"Remote Administration (VNC)"-"allowremote Administration" , Save Exit

Three: Client connection

1.windows Client Installation good Xmanager

2. Open Xmanager, double-click "xbrowser", will automatically appear to connect the machine host name, double-click the connection can

Four: the problems encountered

1. After the above method is set on SLES11SP3, found unable to connect, the log has been holding the following error

May 2 04:54:11 admin gdm[11598]: warning:unable lookup hostname:temporaryfailure in name resolution

Workaround: The nameserver must be set, the default route is not required ( not previously set nameserver and default gateway )

Note: Sles11sp1 nameserver and default routes are not required
