In Windows 7, how does one configure VMware networking? First, my machine configuration: Windows 7 build6956, 32-bit system, Asus Notebook, and virtual machine are Windows 7. Because I am on a business trip, I do not have broadband Internet access, the CDMA network card is used to access the Internet. Therefore, the Network environment is as follows: a Wireless Network Connection (laptop's Wireless Network adapter), a Local Area Connection (laptop's ordinary M Network adapter), and an EP988 cdma modem (CDMA Wireless Network adapter) after installing VMware6.5.1 (the latest version) on www.2cto.com, two more virtual NICs (local connection) and (local connection 2) are added ),
The following describes the prerequisites for successful networking: first, the device manager must contain VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet1 and VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet8 (in fact, only 8 is required, 1 is not required ). And no problem is displayed. Second, in the Control Panel \ network and Internet \ network connection, the VMware Bridge Protocol must be checked in your Nic attributes (note that your physical Nic is not the attributes of the virtual Nic, the virtual network card can not be checked)

In addition, the system service does not change the three essential services that VMware continues to start by default. If there is a problem with the above settings, you only need to re-run the installer and choose to fix the installation. The general problem will be solved. Steps for setting up Virtual Machine networking: (The following settings are best run as Administrator) 1. Open the Start Menu, all programs, VMware, Virtual Network Editor2, open the NAT tab, set the VMnet Host drop-down menu to VMnet8 and write down the following Gateway IP Address. For example, my Address is 192.168.40.2 www.2cto.com. Open the DHCP tab and select VMnet8 from the list below, click the Properties button in the lower-right corner of the List to write down the Start IP Address and End IP Address. For example, my options are 192.168.40.128 and 192.168.40.254.
4. Shut down VMware and Virtual Network Editor, run VMware Workstation, change the hardware of the Virtual machine, and set the NIC running mode to the second (NAT: used to share the host's IP address5, start the virtual machine, for example, my Windows XP, open Control Panel \ network and Internet connection \ Network Connection 6. Change the TCP/IP attribute in the local connection attribute and select use the following IP address, fill in any one of the two IP addresses on the DHCP page, that is, from 192.168.40.128 to 192.168.40.254. Select either of them. I chose 192.168.40.200. The subnet mask is automatically set to 255.255.255.0. The default gateway and the following DNS are the IP addresses that have just been recorded on the NAT page, for example, my IP address is 192.168.40.2. 7. Confirm and close all tabs. As a result, you can log on to QQ and SET network neighbors. The network drive mapped to the host is also successful. Author lzhw1985
