Solution to frequent disconnection of adsl dial-up Internet access in ubuntu

Ubuntu uses pppoeconf to dial adsl. But it is strange that this time it is always disconnected. It takes about 2.5 minutes. If it is pinged, it will be reset, but firefox also needs to stop escape and refresh again, so it is depressing... I found an article and explained a method. Modify the options file sudogedit/etc/ppp/options and set lcp-echo-interval to a large number (I directly gave 200, ah, Ubuntu uses pppoeconf to dial adsl. I found an article about the method and modified the options file.

Sudo gedit/etc/ppp/options

Set lcp-echo-interval to a large number (I just gave 200, huh, huh ...)

However, the default setting has a very obvious defect. The lcp-echo-failure frequency is set to 4, and the lcp-echo-interval is set to 30 seconds. That is to say, if the ADSL server does not return the echo-reply signal within 120 seconds, UBuntu will think that the network has encountered a problem and will immediately interrupt the reconnection, which is quite uncomfortable.

This silly problem is also well solved. sudo gedit/etc/ppp/options sets the number of lcp-echo-failure times to a large value, for example, 40, in this way, it is more suitable for the current situation of ADSL in China, and the network will no longer be disconnected.
