Solve the problem of slow system startup caused by ADSL

Problem Background:The neighbor's house has a 512 K monthly subscription bandwidth. Because there is only one computer, the ADSL routing function and DHCP configuration are not enabled. The machine is equipped with a Windows XP system and uses PPPoE for dial-up Internet access. After checking that the Internet access speed is normal and there is no hardware fault.
This is strange. There is no difference between the use of external ADSL and the use of the motherboard's built-in Nic. Is it because of NIC settings? Therefore, by default, Windows XP will perform self-check on network devices such as NICs at startup. If the nic ip address is not configured properly, it will be set, this may be the real cause of slow system startup. The problem is solved.

Solution:Open the "local connection" Property menu, and double-click "Internet Protocol" in the "General" item to open the "TCP/IP property" menu. Set the IP address of the network adapter to an unused value in the default Public Network Gateway of 192.168.1.1), for example, 192.168.1.X. The value of X is between 2 and 2 ~ The value between 255 and the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0. The default gateway and DNS can be set by default.
