Open VIM configuration file, location in/ETC/VIM/VIMRC

in which to join

Set fileencodings=utf-8,gb2312,gbk,gb18030
Set Termencoding=utf-8
Set ENCODING=PRC

Save to exit, this time VIM will be able to display Chinese correctly.

For Gedit, the workaround is as follows:

Running Gconf-editor in the terminal

In the Open interface, select: Apps->gedit-2->preferences->encodings

On the right side of the auto_detected and Shown_in_menu right-click Edit, click Add, respectively, add GB2312 (or GB18030) and GBK, and click the Up button to move to the first bit. Close, you can display the Chinese in the gedit.
