The meaning of port-specific in MOS.
Today, one of the Buddies said a bug,bug number is bug 16884689, the key point is not what kind of bug, the key point is that the description of the bug has this point: Impact platform Port-specific
What does this port-specific mean? So I used "port-specific" as the keyword in the MoS search for a moment, found an article:
Size of Redo Log Files (document ID 111655.1)
Problem Description-------------------You notice it there is a discrepancy between the size of your online redo logs as Reported in V$log, and so reported by the O/s.for example on Compaq Tru64 unix:select bytes from v$log bytes-------- - 1048576 1048576 1048576 1048576ls-l for on-line rego logs 1049600Solution Description--------------------The online redo logs (and also archived logs) has a header block which is not reported in The v$views. The size of this block is port-specific. 1024x768 bytes on Compaq Tru-unix, bytes on Solaris etc.
In combination with the above, it can be concluded as follows: Port-specific is the meaning of the specified platform.
