The use of glances tools for Linux system process management

The previous post introduced the use of the Htop tool, here to introduce the use of glances tools, I personally prefer this tool, mainly because glances this tool can export the system state as a file, If exported to HTML format, you can work with Apache or Nginx and other web programs to directly open the page to the server resource view.

Since there are advantages there is also a disadvantage, you cannot select a specified process to view by the up and down arrows, and you cannot view all processes, it can only show processes that are consuming more resources to the system. However, it can be very good to see the current computer network, disk read-write, disk partition and so on.

Glances's official homepage: http://nicolargo.github.io/glances/Here you can download the corresponding source package

Here is glances open interface, I put the disk read and write hidden. If there are no hidden words, the disk I/O is shown in the lower left corner instead of the current mount.

First of all, the usual options for glances:

-f/path/to/somefile: Setting the location of the output file

-O {html/csv}: Setting the format of the output file

-M: Hide mounted disk

There are also some common options that can be used directly in the visual interface such as the following

-B: Display the network card rate in bytes (byte)

-D: Hide disk IO

-N: Hide Network io

-T: Specify refresh Interval

-1: Data for each CPU is displayed separately

And then we're going to do a demo for the above content

First, the output file to do a demonstration, this is very power ..... It is important to note that the-O and-f need to be used at the same time,-o specifies the export type-F to specify the export location (I export to the Web directory) when executing this command, the program will generate a glances.html file in the/var/www/html directory and the program will continue to function normally.

Execution: (There is no way to show the dynamic map, please try it yourself.) )

To enter glances get help information, in the lower left corner of glances will be prompted to press H to get help (I use Ubuntu here so it will show Chinese)

After seeing this picture visually, many poor English friends saw hope. The following parameters do not explain too much, just look at the color highlighted there. Stands for three levels: note, warning, critical (in fact, at the third level, it hangs out.) Can be understood as the end)

Then the following respectively represents the limit, so please pay attention to the system usage, when more than the first need to pay attention to. Suddenly do not specify how to write. It doesn't feel like a demo. Hey. The small partners to do more, originally wanted to write some more but really do not know how to write forgive me.
