There are 2 ways in which a function returns a value in Python:

1.return statements

Description: After the return statement is executed, subsequent code of the function will not be executed

2.yield statements

Description: The yield statement returns an iterator object that can be invoked by next (a) (an instance object of the function).

The code behind yield will still not be executed.
