Linux Firewall (iptables) Open and close

The firewall in Linux is mainly about setting up and managing iptables.

1. Linux firewall (Iptables) reboot system in effect

    1. Open: Chkconfig iptables on
    2. OFF: Chkconfig iptables off

2.Linux Firewall (Iptables) takes effect immediately and fails after reboot

    1. Open: Service iptables start
    2. Close: Service iptables stop

It should be stated that for other services under Linux, the above command can be used to perform the open and close operations.

When the Linux firewall (Iptables) is turned on, do the following to open ports 25 and 110,

Modify the/etc/sysconfig/iptables file to add the following:

    1. -A rh-firewall-1-input-m state--state new-p tcp-m TCP--dport--syn-j ACCEPT
    2. -A rh-firewall-1-input-m state--state new-p tcp-m TCP--dport--syn-j ACCEPT
