The paging reading record function of MySQL database

Source: Internet
Author: User

In the past two days, I occasionally checked MySQL documents and found that there is a found_rows () function in MySQL versions later than MySQL 4.0.0, which can be called in SQL queries containing limit, obtain the total number of qualified records. This method is faster than calling two SQL statements with the same conditions. This function is particularly useful for paging display. I didn't even find this function before, but every time I call two queries, it seems a little outdated.

Usage of the found_rows () function:
It needs to be enabled in the previous SELECT statementSQL _calc_found_rows. For example:
Mysql>Select SQL _calc_found_rows * fromTbl_nameWhere ID & gt; 100 limit 10;
Mysql>Select found_rows ();
Found_rows ().
