When drawing on drawings, you should determine the proportions before starting. This scale is the ratio of the size of the drawing object to the actual size of the object represented by the graphic. For example, every one-fourth inches in a building graphic might represent a foot of a room floor plan.   The selected proportions must make the object's graphics full of drawings. In AutoCAD, this process is reversed. You can use the specified unit type (building unit, Decimal, and so on) or the default unit type (decimal) drawing. Each unit on the screen can represent the required units of units: inches, millimeters, and kilometers. Therefore, if the engine part is drawn, one unit may be equivalent to one millimeter. If you draw a map, one unit may be equal to 1-kilometer.

In other words, when you start drawing without considering the problem of drawing scale, press 1:1 drawing, which is a notable feature of CAD drawing. When you print out the chart, consider the proportion of the plot, when printing, you can set different proportions for different parts of the graphic.

Although you do not need to specify a graphic scale before you print, you can enter the scaling dimensions of the bottom items in advance:

1, text (if drawn in model space)

2, callout (if drawing in model space)

3. Non-continuous line style

4. Fill pattern

5, view (only in the layout of the mouth)

Scaling these elements to ensure that they are in the final shape of the correct size, of course, in the graphics will use a variety of text formatting, callout style and fill pattern, you can flexibly adjust the scale factor.

To specify a scaling factor in the model space

If you plan to print graphics from the Model tab, you should calculate the exact scaling factor by converting the graph scale to a proportional 1:n. This proportion treats the print unit as a graphic unit representing the actual dimensions of the object being drawn.

For example, if the drawing scale is 1/4 inches = 1 feet, you can calculate the scale factor 48 as follows:

1/4 "= 12"

1 = x 4

1 (print unit) = 48 (graphic unit)

In the same way, the 1/8-inch = 1-foot scaling factor is 96, 1-inch = 20-foot scaling factor is 240.

If you use the metric, such as the drawing size may be 210 x 297 mm (A4 paper), the scale factor is 20. Calculate the graph bounds as follows:

210 x = 4200 mm

297 x = 5900 mm

After establishing the scaling factor, you can use it to set the height of the text, dimensioning, line-style proportions, fill pattern proportions, and viewport proportions. After you finish the graphic, you can print at any scale, or print different views of the model at different proportions.

Apply scaling factor

Set the values of the following elements to determine whether you want to print from the model space or the layout of the drawing space.

Text, set the height of the text when you create it, or set the height of the fixed text in the style of the text. The print height of the text in the model space should be increased by scaling factor. Text created directly on the layout should be set to the true size (1:1).

Callout, in callout style (Dimstyle) or with Dimscale system variable to set callout scale. Annotations created directly on the layout should be set to the true size (1:1).

Line style, for objects printed from the Model tab, you should use the Celtscale and Ltscale system variables to set the proportion of the discontinuous line style. For objects that are printed from the layout (drawing space), you should use the Psltscale system variable.

Fills the pattern, in the Boundary Fill dialog box (bhatch), or with the Hpscale system variable to set the proportions of the fill pattern.

View, when printing from the Layout tab, you need to use the Zoom XP command, where XP is the ratio of the view relative to the drawing size (the reciprocal of the scaling factor).
