The selection set cannot be displayed in the current attempt.

Error message: the server object cannot be previewed after it is successfully created in arccatalog. the following error message is displayed in arccatalog:

"Your selection cannot be displayed in the current view ."

Cause: the output value and the HTTP address assigned to the server attribute may be incorrect.Solution:All created ArcGIS Server objects must be stopped first.

1. In arccatalog, right-click ArcGIS Server, and add and select server attributes.
2. In the directories column, highlight the added output directory and click Edit.
3. The output directory should point to a valid directory, such as C:/ArcGIS/output.

   If you point to a virtual directory, make sure it is valid in the following format:

   Http: // <servername>/Output

4. Update properties, and then re-create the server object for the change to take effect.
