The VIM editor uses

The first vim file mode is the basic mode, you can move the cursor to view the file.

Insert mode:

Press I into the insert mode, you can write something, need to save press: W, need to save and exit Press: Wq.
Then press ESC to go back to basic mode.

View mode:

Press CTRL V is the view mode and you can select chunks of content.
Press ESC again to exit view mode back to basic mode.

A colon is the command mode.
Switch between modes to first ESC back to basic mode and then into the desired mode.

About Delete:

About the deletion in edit mode, it is two keys, Backspace and delete. The difference is that Backspace is responsible for deleting the characters that precede the cursor, and delete is responsible for deleting the characters following the cursor.
