1. Normal installation: directly decompress the installation method.

Decompress the plug-in to a folder.

Decompress the downloaded plug-in file to the eclipse installation directory.

Such as plug-in files for multi-country Language Pack: NLpack1-eclipse-SDK-3.1.1a-win32

Most of the downloaded plug-in files are compressed by books. decompress the files to obtain the folder containing eclipse (which contains the plugins and features folders ), the directory structure obtained after the NLpack1-eclipse-SDK-3.1.1a-win32 is decompressed is (I assume that the plug-in is decompressed to F: \ hongjun \ myplugins \ language) F: \ hongjun \ myplugins \ language \ eclipse, F: \ hongjun \ myplugins \ language \ is the installation directory of the plug-in.

 

2. Links installation: Implemented by creating a link file

※▲This installation method is recommended because it facilitates plug-in management. ※▲

① Create a new links folder under F: \ hongjun \ eclipse, and then get F: \ hongjun \ eclipse \ links

② Create a link file under F: \ hongjun \ eclipse \ links, such as language. start (note that the extension name can be any one, such as .link,.ini, .txt, etc., as long as the link file name is consistent with the last folder name in the plug-in File Installation Directory. Here, my plug-in installation directory structure is F: \ hongjun \ myplugins \ language \, so the link file name is named language. start. If the directory structure of your plug-in installation is D: \ eclipse \ myplugins \ languagepack,
Your link file name should be named mongoagepack. Start ).

③ Write the following sentence in language. Start: Path = F:/hongjun/myplugins/language, or Path = F: \ hongjun \ myplugins \ language.

That is, Path = your plug-in installation directory (which path does eclipse go to load the check file)

④ Restart eclipse (If your eclipse has started before installing the plug-in, you need to turn off eclipse first)

Note: The path should be replaced by "/" or "\" instead. Errors may occur here.

Important: if the check file is not successfully installed, delete the org. eclipse. update (this is a folder that records updates of the plug-in). After deleting this folder, eclipse will re-scan all the plug-ins. At this time, restarting eclipse may be a little slower than just now.

 

3. Online installation: Use the update manager of the eclipse platform.

Enter the online installation website to the appropriate location of Eclipse.

① Choose "help"> "Software Update"> "find and install"> "search for new feature to be installed" from the eclipse menu"

2. Click Next. In the "Install" dialog box, click Create remote site ...... ] Button. The "New Update site" dialog box appears. In the name column, enter the plug-in name: XXX. In the URL bar, enter the online website: http: //........., Click OK, and then click Finish. eclipse will automatically search for the plug-in where your site is located. If the entered name and URL are correct and the site can be connected, eclipse will install the plug-in online. During the installation process, you will be prompted to restart eclipse. You only need to follow the instructions below.

So far, three plug-ins of eclipse have been introduced.

 

The following describes some problems and solutions that may occur during installation.

I. Links installation method, you must pay attention to the path Writing Method

There are roughly three types:

There are two methods that have been introduced earlier, and one is to use relative paths.

If your plug-in is created in your eclipse installation directory, you can use the relative path.

Specifically, if I decompress the multi-country Language Pack to F: \ hongjun \ eclipse \ language, the path in the Link file can be written as follows: "Path = language"

In addition, multiple plug-ins can be installed in a custom directory;

Plug-ins can be installed in multiple custom directories;

The name of the link file can be specified with an urgent extension;

The link file can have multiple lines of Path = plug-in installation directory, corresponding to multiple custom plug-in directories, each line of path parameters will take effect;

You can also have multiple link files in the links directory. The path parameter in each link file takes effect.

Ii. After installing the plug-in the three methods, you need to restart eclipse to see that the plug-in takes effect.

If you have installed a plug-in, but cannot find the new plug-in you have installed

It may be because the plug-in you installed does not support the current eclipse version, or it may be caused by system configuration.

Iii. Do not see the plug-in WINDOW> preferences after installing the plug-in

① Delete eclipse \ Configuration \ org. Eclipse. Update. This is because you started eclipse before installing the new plug-in. eclipse. the update folder records the previous updates of the plug-in. It only remembers the previous updates of the plug-in, but does not record the newly installed plug-in, therefore, deleting this folder can solve this problem. However, after deleting this folder, eclipse will re-scan all the plug-ins. At this time, restarting eclipse may be a little slower than just now.

② Create an eclipse Quick Start method and add the "space-clean" parameter to the target column. Be sure not to omit the spaces in front of "-clean. Or add the-clean parameter when starting your eclipse in the menu "start"-"run". For example, in "run", enter: F: \ hongjun \ eclipse \ eclipse.exe-clean

If you find the new plug-in you have installed after starting eclipse, you can remove the clean parameter before the next startup.

③ If the plug-in cannot be found during eclipse startup, add a line in the config. ini file under the eclipse \ configuration Directory: osgi. checkconfiguration = true

In this way, it will find and install the plug-in. After finding the plug-in, you can comment out (remove) the line, so that it will not become slow every time you start the plug-in.

 

For myeclipse10, you can create a SVN folder directly in the dropins folder under the installation directory, put the features and plugins directories in the plug-in file to this folder, and then restart myeclipse.
