VMware is a powerful Virtual Machine software, which is beyond doubt. Click the network settings of the self-created virtual machine, and you will find three common network settings. The following describes how to use the three methods.
Method 1: Bridging
To put it simply, the bridge mode is to access the Internet through our real physical network card, that is, the virtual machine at this time is like a real physical machine using a real IP address like a host. VMware network adapter vmnet1 and VMWare network adapter vmnet8 are not required at all.
First, I need to set the network mode of my Virtual Machine
The IP address of the physical machine is as follows (ipconfig view)
The Virtual Machine IP Address Settings are as follows:(Set with eht0)
In this case, the Windows host can ping 10.92.4.222 for Linux.
Then I use securecrt for remote login
View the successful page
In fact, the bridge network mode is very simple, because it allows virtual machines and physical machines to have a real IP address.
Method 2: Nat
First, we need to set the NAT connection method.
After installing VMWare, we will find two more virtual NICs at our network link. As follows:
Among them, vmnet8 is the virtual network interface used for NAT networking. Vmnet1 is the third method to use. Let's first check the attributes of the vmnet8 NIC:
What we need to do is to configure the Virtual Machine IP address and the IP address above the vmnet8 Nic In the same network segment. So now we are going to the Virtual Machine for configuration.
Then our physical machine can ping our virtual machine.
Then we use securecrt for remote connection.
Show connection successful
At this time, we will find that the NAT method is to use the vmnat8 virtual Nic and then implement communication with the host. However, he has the advantage that if the host can access the Internet, virtual machines that use the NAT network mode can also access the Internet through the host. This is what host-only lacks.
Method 3: Host-only
First, configure the network settings of the virtual machine as follows:
In the same way as Nat, you can view the attributes of vmnat1.
Next, set the IP address and the IP address of vmnat1 to the same network segment on the Linux server of the virtual machine. In this way, communication can be realized.
Remember: There are three network connection methods: the bridging method uses a real Nic, the NAT method uses vmnat8, and the host method only uses vmnat1. It's actually that simple.
