Tips for wireless router Encryption
Nowadays, wireless routers are essential for many broadband users in their homes. wireless broadband has brought a lot of convenience for users to enjoy their digital life. However, due to the transmission of wireless signals through wireless networks, many users are currently using wireless routers, and wireless broadband is being "Hacked. Being hacked not only slows down the network speed, but also exposes information such as chat records, personal photos, and account passwords. The following describes how to encrypt a wireless router.
1. Disable SSID Broadcast
The SSID is the name of the wireless network. When you set the wireless network, you generally set a good SSID for your home wireless network. Generally, the SSID Broadcast Function of a wireless router is enabled. Although it is convenient for users to log on to the network, it is easy for users to find it. Therefore, we recommend that you disable the SSID broadcast function. You can log on to the vro management interface, remove the "check mark" on the "enable SSID broadcast" function, and click Apply.
In this way, if someone wants to get rid of the internet, they will not be able to find your wireless signal.
Some users may ask, what should I do if I cannot find the wireless signal and need to connect myself?
You can select "network and sharing center information" in the control panel of your computer, find "set new connection or network", and click "manually connect to wireless network ". Then, enter the SSID and password of the wireless network, and check in the "connect even if the network is not broadcast" check box, click next and the system will automatically scan the corresponding network signal to access the network.
2. Disable WEP Encryption
When using a vro, many people choose the WEP password method for password settings. This password protection method is technically too simple. Attackers can easily crack the password through tools, when the signal strength is high, the password can be cracked in about 1 minute.
We recommend that you use the WPA2 encryption method in the wireless router to ensure higher security. Log on to the vro Management page, click Advanced Settings-Wireless Settings-wireless security (or wireless encryption)-security mode, select WPA2, and enter the wireless encryption password, click OK.
3. Enable MAC Filtering
The current smartphone and tablet have wireless NICs, each of which has a unique MAC address, similar to our ID card number. You can bind the MAC address of your home wireless device to a wireless router, and only allow the specified wireless network adapter to access your wireless network, in this way, an access restriction is added for your wireless network.
On the vro settings page, choose Advanced Settings> Wireless Settings> wireless network interface card access list (MAC address filtering). Click Add. The device automatically displays the MAC address connected to the vro, select your MAC address and click application. Then, your network will remember your electronic device.
4. vro power reduction
The larger the power of a wireless router, the stronger the network signal intensity, and the wider the coverage range. The higher the probability of being "rubbed by the Network. If the transmit power of the wireless signal is reduced appropriately, and the signal cannot be received by others, or the signal is weak, the network cannot be "Rubbed.
Select the "advanced" option on the vro configuration page. Then, click and modify the transmit power of the vro.
