By sorting the mail merge recipients in the Word2010 document, you can implement printing letters in a specific order. The user can simply sort by clicking the field name in the Mail Merge Recipients dialog box, or by clicking the Drop-down triangle to the right of the field name, and selecting the sort ascending or descending sort command in the open Drop-down menu, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 Select ascending sort or descending sort command if the user needs to sort the recipients more advanced, you can do so in the Filter and Sort dialog box, as follows: Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window and switch to the mail ribbon. Click the Edit recipient list button in the Start Mail Merge group, as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2 Click the Edit recipient list button tip: If the Edit recipient list button is unavailable, you need to click the Select Recipient button in the Start Mail Merge group and select the appropriate recipient list. Step 2nd, open the Mail Merge Recipients dialog box, and in the Adjust Recipient list area, click the Sort hyperlink, as shown in Figure 3.
Figure 3 Click the Sort hyperlink in step 3rd, and in the Filter and Sort dialog box that you open, switch to the Sort Records tab. Click the sort by Drop-down triangle button, select the appropriate field in the field list (for example, select the Title field), and select the Ascending or descending radio box. If necessary, you can also set "second basis" and "third basis". When you have finished sorting by setting, click OK, as shown in Figure 4.
