The MySQL Enterprise monitor requires that a proxy be installed on each monitored MySQL server. On each of my Windows 2003 Server testing systems, this proxy occupies about MB of memory. Like most other proxies, this MySQL Enterprise monitor agent needs to have its own maintenance plan.

In my tests, the service manager can only work with agents in the same MySQL Enterprise monitor version. Agents of earlier versions must be upgraded before they can be used with the latest MySQL Enterprise monitor component.
