TP-LINK router bridging (WDS), tp-linkwds
I have made several vro bridging attempts, but I forget it every time. I need to find more information. Record it here for future use.
Preparations:
1. Set local connection/wireless network connection (depending on which router is configured): IP-192.168.1.100 mask-255.255.255.0 gateway-192.168.1.1
The procedure is as follows:
1. Primary router settings
1. If the master router (for example, IP: 192.168.1.1) is connected to the Internet, go to the router Management page (http: // 192.168.1.1) and use a fixed channel (recommended for 1, 6, and 11 ), disable the RSS function, record the LAN port IP address of the main router, and exit.
2. If the primary router is not connected to the Internet, go to the router Management page (http: // 192.168.1.1 ).
3. Set a fixed channel to disable the RSS function.
4, set the wireless encryption method for WPA/WPA2 or WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, password settings should not be associated with the number of life (such as mobile phone number, birthday, ID card number.
5. Set the primary router and restart the router.
Ii. vro settings
1. initialize the sub-router and press RESET.
2. Go to the vro Management page (http: // 192.168.1.1 ).
3. Set the LAN port IP address to 192.168.1.2 and restart the router.
3. Go to the vro Management page (http: // 192.168.1.2 ).
4. Select the channel of the primary router and disable RSS.
5. Enable WDS and click scan.
6. After the corresponding primary Router Network, click "Connect ".
7. Select the encryption method corresponding to the primary router, enter the password, and save the password without restarting.
8. On the wireless security page, set the wireless encryption method and password (which may be different from the primary router ).
9. We recommend that you enable the DHCP function. assign an address pool to the last part of the primary router address pool (for example, the IP address pool of the primary router is 192.168.1.100 ~ 200, the address pool of the sub-router can be set to 192.168.1.180 ~ 200); If DHCP is not enabled, You need to manually allocate IP addresses to other terminals, which is more troublesome.
10. the IP address of the LAN port (192.168.1.1 in this example) of the master router ).
11. After configuring the sub-router, restart and exit.
After configuring the vro, change the IP address of the local connection or wireless network connection to random allocation.
