Remote management features in Microsoft's operating system can be very convenient for users, but users with Vista systems may find themselves unable to remotely manage them, in the form of a telnet command that cannot be used. Is Microsoft abandoning the remote management function? The answer is in the negative.
Vista cannot use the Telnet command for remote administration because it is not turned on in the system default settings. Knowing the reason, the solution is very simple.
Open the Control Panel (in Classic view mode), double-click Programs and features, and in the upper-left corner of the pop-up dialog box, click "Turn on or turn off Windows Features" (Figure 1).

A dialog box pops up (Figure 2), and after a while, the dialog box lists the services/components that the current system has turned on or off (Figure 3).

In Figure 3, find the service items associated with Telnet and check that the last Save settings exit will make the Vista Remote administration function effective.
