Tutorial on Oracle 11g installation on Windows 7 x64

In order to install Oracle on Windows 7x64, the system tried two days and downloaded several files, prompting various errors, such as unsupported operating system. The final success was recorded.

1. download the latest Oralce 11gR2. Only this version supports Windows 7 x64.

The previous version includes 11 GB. During installation, the system prompts that the operating system is not supported. Although you can set it to not verify the operating system, it is still a bit difficult for new users.

After downloading, you can get two files:

Win64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip

Win64_11gr2_databasesilicate f2.zip

A total of 2 GB. Decompress the package to obtain a database directory.

2. Ensure that the path of the database does not contain Chinese characters. It is best not to have spaces. Otherwise, errors will occur during installation.

3. Run setup.exe

Step 2: Let's fill in an email. Because I installed it on the local machine for development, there is no need to write it. Remove "I want to pass... Check box before receiving security notifications

Step 2: select which to install. The first one is selected by default.

Step 2: Select desktop or server. Select the former.

Step 2: set the path and Parameters

The password I entered is system, which is too simple. oracle prompts me to change it to a complicated password. Select No directly.

Step 2: Check whether the environment meets the requirements
