Although Linux kernel-based Ubuntu is very easy to operate on the GUI, it is at the cost of greatly reducing the boot speed. As a result, many Ubuntu users still want to log on to the system in the traditional Command Line Character Mode after the boot, the main purpose is to speed up the boot speed, the following two methods are provided for Ubuntu users to log on to the Ubuntu system through the command line interface. As a result, many Ubuntu users still want to log on to the system in the traditional Command Line Character Mode after the boot, the main purpose is to speed up the boot speed, the following two methods are provided for Ubuntu users to log on to the Ubuntu system through the command line interface.
Method 1:
Ubuntu has been using upstart to replace init in earlier versions. Its main scripts are all under/etc/event. d. By default, there is no inittab file in/etc.
Therefore, we create an inittab under/ect/, write id: 3: initdefault:, and then enter/etc/rc3.d, move S13kdm to another directory for backup, and restart the system, in this case, the command line character logon interface is displayed.
Method 2:
First install sysv-rc-conf, that is, enter the command: sudo apt-get install sysv-rc-conf;
Run sysv-rc-conf, that is, run sudo sysv-rc-conf.
After running the program, find the following two groups of options.
Friendly reminder: After restarting Ubuntu and entering the command line character logon interface, if you want to return to the graphic environment again, you need to use telinit 3 instead of startx.
