1.Windows 98 before second edition

Before Windows 98 Second Edition, pre-installation of Windows systems was done through DOS.

2. Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows $, Windows Xp,windows Server 2003

From the second edition of Windows 98 to Windows Server 2008, the pre-installation process does not require a DOS system, and it uses a specially customized CD-booting system from Microsoft, which is more friendly and simple than DOS. A lot of friends from this time began to touch the computer and the use of computers, the specific wizard I did not elaborate, because all the people are familiar.

3.Windows vista,windows Server (R2), Windows 7

Starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft has used a more friendly approach, using Windows PE systems as a pre-installation process for Microsoft systems. In this system, the interface is more beautiful and friendly, direct support mouse click, the wizard is also very simple, so that more convenient for users to install the Windows operating system more easily.

System files before Windows Vista are stored in the I386 folder, and in Windows Vista, there is no I386 file on the disc. Many friends will ask where these system files are stored:

In the Sources folder of the CD for Windows 7, there are two WIM files, respectively Boot.wim and Install.wim

Boot.wim----primarily responsible for computer startup, do some pre-installation configuration, Windows 7 pre-installation is the Boot.wim file is responsible for.

Install.wim-----contains system files for Windows 7, similar to the data for Windows XP I386 folders.

Two. Windows System installation

This phase is mainly responsible for the copy of the Windows system files, the installation and registration of the system, etc., the installation of the system is completed at this stage.

1. Windows 98 First Edition

Complete the installation using the I386 folder on the disc.

2. Windows 98 Second Edition----Windows Server 2003

Call Install.wim to complete the system installation.
