Two simple ways for Excel to merge cells

First Method: Shortcut buttons

Like the following figure, in the Excel Formatting toolbar, find the icon for the following figure.

The blue coil in the picture above the button, click, you can select a number of cells merged into a cell. Click again to restore the merged cells to the state of multiple cells before they were merged.

Still, this merged cell has one disadvantage: the contents of the cell, in the vertical direction, are not centered.

The second method: Merging through dialog boxes

First select multiple cells to merge cells, and then perform menu actions: Format → cell, and pop-up dialog box.

In the above illustration, first select the Alignment tab.

Then, in the lower position, find the place where the blue coil lives, tick the merge cells option.

If you want the merged cells to be centered in both horizontal and vertical directions, select Center with the options below the horizontal alignment and vertical alignment option as the same as the one below.

All set, click "OK" button, then realize the combination of the cell, and, regardless of row height and column width into how much, the contents of the cell is always in the horizontal and vertical direction, are centered.

Of course, if you want to cancel the merged settings, repeat the action above to cancel the "merge cells" in the dialog box.
