Typecho_widget source code has several functions are not very clear, ask everyone?

Recently see Typecho_widget Source code, this all the widgets of the parent class, there are several methods are not very clear, ask you.

• Post Event triggering

• @param boolean $condition trigger condition

• @return Mixed
  */

1. function on ($condition)
   {

      if ($condition) {       return $this;   } else {       return new Typecho_Widget_Helper_Empty();   }

   }

This is said to be a post trigger, then exactly how to trigger out, do not see the relevant call place, the function probably means that if the condition is satisfied, return the current widget. Hope everyone enlighten, thank you!!!
