Now you have upgraded or installed Ubuntu 14.04, but there is another thing you need to do to protect your new system: backup!

Ubuntu has a built-in Backup Tool named D é j à Dup Backup Tool. It allows you to back up your system and save it locally or on a remote server using different protocols.

There are also many other tools to back up your Ubuntu computer and files. You can use the Dropbox client or other cloud services to automatically back up your important documents. You may also use UbuntuOne to back up your machine, but now it is no longer an option.

Another cloud storage that can be used to back up your machine is Box. Box is a great service and a substitute for Dropbox. One disadvantage of Box cloud storage is that it does not have Linux clients like Dropbox.

One of its advantages is that Dropbox does not support backing up your files through the WebDAV protocol.

This brief tutorial will teach you how to use the Box cloud service to automatically back up your Ubuntu machine.

Before you start, make sure that you have a Box account. If not, register the account.

After you finish, open Dash and search for backups. Or choose Gear> system Settings> Backup.

Next, select the backup folder (SAVE), the ignored folder, and where to save the backup. The location must be set first. For the storage location, we select WebDAV. Next, enter the server address (as shown below), the folder should be/dav/, and enter your Box user name.

Return to the overview page and select backup now.

You will be asked to enter the password. Enter and continue.

On the next screen, you can choose whether to encrypt the backup with a password. I suggest you do not do this because it may be dangerous to forget the password. Of course, you should not back up the secret stuff here)

After the first backup, open the regular backup settings. Next, go to the Plan and select the best backup plan for you.

To enable the regular backup, drag the slider in the upper right corner to the right (that is, the orange "ON ").

That's it! Now you can go to 'saved folders 'and add more folders to be backed up.

Try it!
