1. Download grub4dos and copy the local files grldr(non-grldr.mbr] and grub.exe to the c root directory. (I used grldr of the old version. Because an error occurs later, I downloaded it here: decompress it and obtain the latest grldr and grldr. put the mbr and other files in the root directory of the C drive, try again, and then confirm that the following is grldr. mbr instead of grldr. mbr is also acceptable)
1. Download grub4dos and decompress it. Copy grldr (non-grldr.mbr] and grub.exe to the c root directory. (I used grldr of the old version. due to an error in subsequent running, I downloaded it myself:
Decompress the package and obtain the latest grldr, grldr. mbr, and other files. Put them in the C root directory and try again.
Then it was confirmed that grldr. mbr should be followed, rather than grldr. Therefore, grldr. mbr of the old version can also be used)
2. After the Ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso is downloaded, put it to the root directory E.
3. Decompress vmlinuz and initrd. lz under the \ casper folder in the ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso and place them in the C root directory.
4. Create the menu. lst file under the C root directory. The content is:
Title Install Ubuntu 9.10
Root (hd0, 0)
Kernel (hd0, 0)/vmlinuz boot = casper iso-scan/filename =/ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso ro quiet splash locale = zh_CN.UTF-8
Initrd (hd0, 0)/initrd. lz
5. in the View tab of my computer> Tools> Folder Options>, remove the check box before "Hiding protected operating system files, check "show all files and folders ". Cancel the boot under the C-drive root directory. the "read-only" attribute of the INI file, and then enable boot with notepad. in the INI file, make the following changes: Change timeout = 0 to timeout = 10 or a larger number in boot. add a line C: \ grldr = "Ubuntu 9.10 Install" to the end of the ini file"
(Attachment: boot. ini file path c: \ boot. ini)
6. restart the computer. The original boot menu is:
Windows 7
Windows XP
Now there is one more:
Ubuntu 9.10 Install
After selecting this item, you forgot to put menu. lst in the C root directory. After the result is confirmed, the running \ grldr may be faulty and cannot be started.
After you Press ESC, the system restarts again. You can only temporarily use Windows 7. Now, put menu. lst in the C root directory, and then restart...
An error occurred while running:
Windows fails to start ..............
...........
File: \ grldr
Status: 0xC000007b
Information: The option cannot be loaded because the application is lost or damaged.
Try again, from the extracted grldr to see if it can be started.
After verification, the result is a file setup problem. grldr cannot run, and grldr. mbr can be used. The above steps are corrected as follows:
After downloading, decompress grldr, grldr.mbrand grldr.exe and copy it to the C root directory. Remember that C: \ grldr = "Ubuntu 9.10 Install" must be written as C: \ grldr. mbr = "Ubuntu 9.10 Install" to run grldr. mbr, which will find grldr, and then load the menu. lst will display a list similar to that in grub: Install Ubuntu 9.10
After selecting it, click OK to enter the installation environment of Ubuntu 9.10.
