GNOME Ubuntu 14.10 uses GNOME 3.12 as the default desktop environment, but this does not mean that GNOME 3.14 cannot be installed. Currently, only GNOME Shell and GTK + are updated to version 3.12, while other applications are still from GNOME 3.10 or later.
