UbuntuLinux installation troubleshooting

UbuntuLinux just released version April 19 in 7.04. It was the first time to download and play, and the installation was smooth. Later I found out that the problem was caused by hanging the/directory and the/usr directory on two different partitions. I can install the/directory on only one partition.
