Section One: Defining Sites

The first step in creating a Web application using Dreamweaver Ultradev is to first define a site (similar to the process we created earlier to create a Web site).

1. Run Ultradev, select Menu site-> Define Sites appear is this interface, the default is only Ultradev predefined three sites, click New to create their own site.

Site Name: The name of your website, as you take, here for Reg_user.

Local root: Specifies the directory of your Web site, the same as the directory you have in Internet Information manager. The other default value is OK.



Next, select the application Server on the left


Server Model: Choose your Web Application mode, a total of three kinds, ASP 2.0, JSP 1.0, Coldfulsion Here we choose ASP 2.0. In Windows2000 we are using IIS5.0 + ASP 3.0, but no effect.


Scripting: Programming the language, you can choose VBScript or JavaScript, it doesn't matter, because Ultradev will automatically help us generate code, basically we don't have to write a line of code.


Page Extension: The default suffix when a file is saved.


Access: How Web pages are published.


If you choose Local/network, there will be 2 places to fill.


Remote Folder: The release location of the Web page, the general default is your site directory;


URL Prefix: Is the address of your site, from the above in the Internet Information Services Manager to create a site in the process we know that our site is http://localhost/, if you use another port to modify the http:// localhost:xxxx/fill this out, we'll be able to use live Data View in Ultradev, which will help you avoid the hassle of switching between the editor and the browser, even if it shows your dynamic data, which is a very thoughtful design.

If you choose None, you don't need to fill in the blanks, but you have to switch to the browser window if you want to debug your program. In view of the slow operation of Ultradev, clay figurine I prefer to use the browser window to view the editing effect, so here I chose none.
