– Error 1402. Unable to open item unknown\components\7abfe44842c12b390af18c3b9b1a1ee8\54d21d49f3a8c1c49ac11a1b6445a83e.  System error 5. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the item, or contact your technical support staff.

Problem Description:

After WINDOWS Server 2008 installed SQL Server 2008 successfully, the load was unloaded for some problems, but it was not installed anyway. The installation process is always flashing through.

Review the System log to report the following error:

Product: Microsoft SQL Server VSS writer-error 1402. Unable to open item unknown\components\7abfe44842c12b390af18c3b9b1a1ee8\54d21d49f3a8c1c49ac11a1b6445a83e.  System error 5. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the item, or contact your technical support staff.

Finally find a solution:

1. Click Start, All Programs, accessories, right-click Command Prompt, select Run as Administrator. 2. Copy or manually enter the following command, Secedit/configure/cfg%windir%\inf\defltbase.inf/db defltbase.sdb/verbose3. After the run is complete, try the installation again
