Unable to start the Oracle graphical installation interface due to improper operation of the Xhost command and display environment variables ____oracle

When Oracle 11.1 is installed on the Redhat operating system, it is frustrating to encounter the inability to start the installation image interface after performing Runinstaller.

Problem phenomenon:
Using the Xmanager2.0 software to log on to the Aix desktop, the root user can start the Xclock clock, and after using the "Xhost +" command, SU to the Oracle user will never be able to see the cute little clock corresponding to the Xclock command. As a result, Oracle's graphical installation interface cannot be started. The installation progress is delay.

Ultimate Solution:
1. Use Xmanager to log on to the root user's desktop on the host where Oracle services are to be installed (note that there is a need to install the desktop environment on the Oracle installation host) to open a terminal;

2. The key first step: Set the display environment variable for the login machine IP address (note Here you native Windows IP address, that is, your Xmanager installation host, My Computer IP is 10.10.11.16);
# Export display=10.10.11.16:0.0
# echo $DISPLAY
10.10.11.16:0.0

3. Use the "Xhost +" command;
# Xhost +
Access control disabled, clients can connect to any host

4. Switch to Oracle user;
# su-oracle

5. Key two steps: Once again, the Oracle user set the display environment variable to the IP address of the landing machine;
If this step is not done, the environment variable may be lost after SU to the Oracle user--where it's depressing.
$ Export display=10.10.11.16:0.0
$ echo $DISPLAY
10.10.11.16:0.0

6. Another key consideration;
Notice the display set content, must refer to the Xmanager left corner of the hint content to set, otherwise it will suffer to another setback.
It is likely that you need to set the display variable to look like the following
$ Export display=10.10.11.16:1.0
$ echo $DISPLAY
10.10.11.16:1.0

7. Summary
Ching, if you choose to deploy Oracle in an image format, it is important to have a smooth start of the image installation interface.
"Xhost +" and "DISPLAY" mixed use of improper will lead to very tragic results, a cautionary tale.

Good luck.
