This article is too long. I will introduce some things: installation system requirements, installation process diagrams, interface Chinese box garbled solutions, tool directory database installation (Dba1176n), Command line start.

Start installation now. Before installation, let's talk about the system requirements.

The disk space is approximately 600 ~ 1300 m, the disk space required by the product depends on the selected installation type and the file system type. The DB2 Installation Wizard provides dynamic size estimates based on components selected during a typical installation, streamlined installation, or custom installation.

Most people are concerned about the valuable memory. The DB2 database system requires at least 256 mb ram. A system that only runs DB2 products and DB2 GUI tools requires at least 512 mb ram. However, we recommend that you provide 1 gb ram to improve performance. These requirements do not include the memory required by other software running on the system, but are still a bit cool.

For more information, see here. For the speed at which no installation files are available, download them here. Download a 398mdb2exc_972_win_x86.exe file and double-click it to run it. During installation, it will decompress the installation file to the temporary system folder and then run it. In fact, this is a compressed package, which can be decompressed using the 7zip tool. It is normal except that one image cannot be decompressed, it can be run directly from the extracted files during subsequent installation, saving time.

Double-click setup.exe to enter the installation launch board and select to install a new product.

In the next step, selecting a typical installation is enough. You can also choose customization. Then you can see more options later. Generally, you can skip this step.

 

Response file, which is used for automatic installation. Sometimes, you need to install the DB2 client on multiple machines, or embed the DB2 database server into the application, and install the DB2 database server while installing the application. In these cases, the automatic installation of DB2 is an ideal method. DB2 uses the response file for automatic installation. The response file is a text file that stores the information required for installation. Next step

 

Select the installation folder

 

User Account configuration, new users only need to fill in the password and confirm the password, other remains the same, next step. You can enter an existing user who will use the DB2 instance and other services. This user must be a member of the local administrator group in windows, and the password is used when logging on to the operating system. If the user ID you entered does not exist, the user ID is created and becomes a local administrator, that is, a new system administrator. If the user does not belong to any domain, leave the domain empty. In Windows, the default user name is db2admin. Here, I select to use the System user account currently logged in (preferably the Administrator uncle)

 

You can configure the instance, for example, whether to start the service after it is started.
