Edge is the "big kill" that Microsoft is using to reinvent itself in the browser market and compete more directly with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. While some of its features are still significantly behind its rivals in the first release, the company is proving itself through more frequent updates and functional improvements. Today, Microsoft brings the first platform update to the new browser, which is edgehtml 13.
Although insider testers have been in use for several months, a large number of ordinary users still notice this change after Windows TH2 (November update).
One of its biggest improvements comes from the new rendering engine's better support for standards. Microsoft has succeeded in making its results an impressive 56 points compared to the time Windows 10 was released--just a few short months. (currently divided into 458, while IE11 is only 336)
In addition to the dramatic improvements in performance, this update also brings enhancements to the Chakra (JavaScript engine). It stands out on the Kangax ES6 Compatibility List and has many new features, such as default support for Asm.js and asynchronous functions.
In addition to the developer's features, this update also brings some changes to the consumer, such as page previews and UI improvements, which we have reported earlier.
