Therefore, every time I see a new version of WP update, I feel a little scared.
Our favorite method is to directly click online upgrade after we see a new version reminder when logging on to the background, which saves my effort and effort. However, this is also the most prone to problems.
For example, when we encountered another new problem, we had to update the 4.5.2 Version (several times in the past few days when we upgraded the company's enterprise website ), A message "another update is in progress" is displayed during the upgrade.

1. In the wp_options data table of the current WP program;
2. Find the core_updater.lock field, delete it, and click the automatic upgrade link in the background.
However, I performed the same operation N times based on this method. How can this problem be solved? Manual upgrade is adopted directly.
1. Delete the wp-admin and wp-uplodes folders and contents of the current website (do not delete the wp-content folder, remember)
2. Download the latest WP program, and replace all the above two folders and contents, including the root directory of the website, with the contents of the current website directory.
3. Execute http: // Current website domain name/wp-admin/upgrade. php
If you need to upgrade the database, click upgrade. If you do not need to upgrade the database, you can see the following figure.
This indicates that we are already in the latest version.
To sum up, it seems that the most reliable method is manual upgrade, and the automatic upgrade is always worried. Regardless of the upgrade method, we need to back up the current website file and database in advance. In case of any problems, we can restore to the previous version.
