Usage of VMware Workstation-new team

Use vmware workstation to build your own LAN

 

1) prepareWork

Before using vmware workstation to build a network, let's take a look at vmware workstation, a virtual machine software that can simulate multiple computers on one computer, VMware Workstation is a host-based product of wmware. It can run inWindowsPlatform andLinuxPlatform. In this experiment, we applied vmware workstation to create a team to implement the LAN creation function. Shows the network to be created:

2) Start wmware workstation, and select "file"-"New"-"team", as shown in:

3) In the create team wizard, set the team name and save path, as shown in:

4) add three computers to the team, two of which are Windows2000 and one is Linux, as shown in:

5) create two networks, lan1 and lan2, as shown in:

6) network settings: connect one of the virtual machines with dual NICs to lan1 and the other to the LAN (add the NIC in the virtual machine, you can add device resources to the virtual machine), connect another Windows2000 Nic to lan1, and connect the NIC of the Linux VM to lan2, as shown in:

7) Start the team and configure the Ethernet IP address of the dual-nic VM as 192.168.2.1 and the IP address of the Windows2000 VM as 192.168.2.10. Run the ping commandTestWhether communication is allowed. Ping 192.168.2.1;

8) configure the IP address of ethernet2 for the dual-nic virtual host to 192.168.3.1, And the IP address of the Linux virtual host to 192.168.3.10. Ping 192.168.3.1 to test whether communication is allowed.

9) Start the routing service on the dual-nic host (Windows 2000 comes with the routing Service );

10) configure the gateway address of the Windows virtual machine as 192.168.2.1; configure the gateway address of the Linux host as 192.168.3.1;

11) Ping 192.168.2.10 on a Linux host to verify that the configuration is successful;

12) frequently encountered problems:

A) after the configuration is complete, you can ping the two IP addresses of the vro, but you cannot ping the Intranet host on the Internet, at this time, you can check whether the Intranet host has configured the gateway address or whether the dual Nic host has enabled the routing function;

B) after the configuration is complete, you can ping one Nic of the dual-nic host, but not the other Nic. In this case, check whether the host has multiple NICs. If yes, you needOthersAnd then test.
