Install git
Use git to clone (clone) source code from the meego source code website http://meego.gitorious.org to learn. The following describes how to install git in Linux and Windows.
1. Install
To install the pre-compiled git binary installation package on Linux, you can directly use the package management tool provided by the system. Install with Yum on fedora:
$ Yum install Git-core
You can use apt-get to install Debian systems such as Ubuntu:
$ Apt-Get instal Git-core
2. Install
Installing git on Windows is also easy. A project called msysgit provides the installation package, which can download the Installation File (.exe) from the Google Code Page ):
Http://code.google.com/p/msysgit
After the installation is complete, you can use the GIT tool of the command line (which already comes with an SSH client), and a graphical git project management tool.
3. Use git to download source code
1. Use the GIT clone command in Linux to clone the source code you want, such as the meego-panel-myzone module of meego, but use:
Git clone git: // gitorious.org/meego-netbook-ux/meego-panel-myzone.git
.
The downloaded file is saved in the meego-panel-myzone directory.
2. Open git GUI in the window,
Select to clone an existing version,
Enter the Source Code address and set the Save address.
