Virtualdrive can create a virtual optical drive in the system, copy the application software and data from the DVD to the hard disk in the computer, create a virtual disc icon, and tell the operating system to use this compressed file as a CD-ROM in the CD-ROM. And you can browse through Windows Explorer like any other drive, so when we want to start it later, we do not have to put the DVD into the optical drive, not to wait for the CD-ROM drive to start slowly, just click on the virtual disc icon, you can enjoy the contents of the DVD disc.

Installation and startup

Virtualdrive can be used under a variety of Windows operating systems. At present, the latest version of the program has reached V7.11, its file size is also 26MB, but it contains more and more functions. Download the installation package is a self-extracting file extension exe, with the mouse to double-click the file, you can install; the installation process of the program is relatively complex, midway needs us to provide detailed personal information to continue installation; and the Installation Wizard interface will also ask us, How many virtual optical drives need to be installed on your computer, we can choose them as needed. When the program is about to complete, a prompt to restart the computer appears, so we can reboot the system, and then the screen continues to ask if we want to create a shortcut on the desktop, by default, the program will automatically set up a quick way to run on the desktop. Then open the My Computer window and see if you have one more letter in the disk list? This means that virtualdrive has started to "play a role" before it starts.

Virtualdrive startup is also very simple, just double-click the shortcut icon on the desktop, you can open a registration prompt interface, in the interface, we can learn that the program in unregistered circumstances, only 30 days of trial time. If you do not want to register, you can directly click the registration interface of the "Continue Evaluation" button, you can open as shown in Figure 1 of the main program interface. The interface is very similar to the Resource Manager interface, and the various operations can be done at a glance to help us quickly use the program.

DVD Copy

Virtualdrive allows us to copy all or part of a DVD-type disc on a virtual CD-ROM. Run the Virtualdrive program, put the DVD disc you want to copy into the DVD drive, and execute the Build button on the toolbar, and we'll open a "virtualdrive-select physical Drive" interface, This interface shows the DVD's volume label name, disc format, file size, number of folders and other information, click the Next button to open a file path settings interface. Here, we can set a storage path for the disc copy file, which also displays the space information of the current system disk. To continue clicking the Next button, we can see the optical disk data algorithm and the compression settings interface, as shown in Figure 2. Virtualdrive provides us with three data conversion algorithms, namely "normal Read Method", "intelligent extraction", and "Data Compression", where "normal read Method "is the most commonly used data conversion methods," intelligent extraction "is an intelligent compression algorithm, in this way to copy some of the protection of game DVD discs, copy generated files may be larger than the size of the original disc, so the first copy of this type of DVD disc, Try not to use this algorithm. "Data Compression" is a kind of professional method to transform the database, which provides 3 kinds of choices, such as uncompressed, moderate and maximum compression. Using maximum compression may compress the DVD disc to a minimum, but it will take a long time. And then click the Next button, we can set up and understand all the information copied files, after confirming that the information is not wrong, can begin to replicate data, in the process of replication, we can also see the specific replication progress, the amount of data has been replicated, and also can choose "Pause", "continue "," Stop "and so on to decide whether to continue copying, after the copy completes, the program will pop up a prompt box, tells us the replication success.
