According to the us it website PCWorld, the London Olympics will prohibit viewers from using a large number of technology devices at the competition site. For example, users may not use iPhone and iPad as personal wireless hotspots. In addition to walkie talkie, radio scanner, and laser rod, personal wireless hotspots and 3G routers are also prohibited from being used at the competition. This was the first time in the history of the Olympic Games.

Although users can use iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and tablets in the Competition Venue, they cannot be used as wireless access points to connect multiple devices. London police did not mention whether users can use blackberry or Windows phones.
