Using Pureftpd+mysql+pureftpd_php_manager to set up FTP SERVER

Of course to install FreeBSD, it is best to update ports, if you do not know how to update, please refer to my previous write and FreeBSD upgrade optimization encyclopedia.

First, please make sure that you installed the MySQL database server software, otherwise the system will be installed, error, if you do not install, please perform the following installation steps, install the MySQL database.

Cd/usr/ports/databases/mysql40-server

Make Skip_dns_check=yes build_optimized=yes build_static=yes install

which

Skip_dns_check=yes says you don't have to do reverse parsing when you add a native name

Build_optimized=yes represents optimized processing at compile time

Build_static=yes the mysqld into a static execution version

We're all set. mysql installed, it will automatically install in the/usr/local directory, the database directory located in/var/db/mysql and then install PUREFTPD this FTP server software please enter: cd /usr/ports/ftp/pure-ftpd PURE-FTPD support Ldap,pgsql,mysql and many other authentication methods, and my favorite is with MySQL integration, use MySQL to do user authentication,ftp root directory, upload download rate and other important issues.
