Dedicated network
Select a specific physical network card for the Ipstorage
One is to ensure bandwidth, no need and other applications to compete network resources. The second is to secure isolation. In addition to the VLAN, the proprietary physical network card further strengthens the isolation. If you are particularly concerned about security, you can even consider allocating a single virtual switch for Ipstorage PortGroup. Assuming that a ESXi host is configured with two virtual switches, communication between them must be routed through a three-tier routing device.
Select a shared physical network adapter with two IP storage and other PortGroup
The number of 10G network cards connected to the ESXi host is not long, usually in a shared way. You can consider using NETWORKI/O control to avoid a PortGroup exclusive network resource.
Each of the two options has its own applicable environment.
Teaming
Scenario One:
A company's virtual Environment uses NFS. The ESXi host has six 1G network adapters. How do I design an NFS network?
Select one:
Allocate two physical 1G network adapters to NFS. Create a Vmkernel port to connect to these two physical network adapters. Use Iphash routing. DVS's load-balancing strategy uses routebased Onip Hash. This requires that the physical switch must support Staticetherchannel or STATIC802.3AD link aggregation and set accordingly.
Special Note If only one target is set on the NFS storage device, there is only one NFS destination IP address. Even if EtherChannel is set on a physical switch, packets sent from the virtual switch are only passed through a single physical network card. Does not achieve the goal of increasing network bandwidth.

Choose two:
Allocate two physical 1G network adapters to NFS. Two target is set on the NFS storage device, that is, two NFS destination IP addresses, each belonging to a different network segment.
Create two vmkernel ports corresponding to their NFS destination IP addresses, allocating two physical network cards to the two vmkernelport. DVS's load balancing strategy uses loadbasedteaming
Recommended option two. LBT eliminates the need for complex configuration of physical switches and can also play a role of fault tolerance and load balancing.
Jumbo Frame
The conclusion that jumbo frame will definitely improve the performance of IP storage is not too arbitrary. The information I have seen now has different views on this.
If the existing physical network already uses the Jumbo Frame, it may be useful to consider using it in a virtual environment as well. Make sure that each node on each network supports Jumboframe, and that the appropriate settings are made.
