VISIO2003 Reverse Engineering

Three steps away.
<1> Establish a data source
Open the Control Panel-> management tool-> Data Source (ODBC), or run the odbccp32.cpl command directly. Open the ODBC data Source Administrator. Add a system data source. Select SQL Server as the driver for your data source, type the data source name demo, select the appropriate SQL Server server, and then go to the default. (In a later step, you can select the database that you want to reverse-engineer, the default is master) data source information as shown in figure.

Open Visio 2003, file-> the new-> database-> Database Model diagram. After you have established the Database Model diagram, the menu bar has one more item "database".
<3> Reverse Engineering
The menu item database-> Reverse engineering. Start the Reverse Engineering wizard and step through the reverse engineering setup.
1. Establish a connection with the database. Choosing the type of Visio driver determines the type of database you can connect to and the options available. The data source specifies the database location and connection information. Here we select the Visio driver for Microsoft SQL Server, and the data source is the demo you just built. As shown in Figure two.

2. Connect the data source. Enter a username and password to connect to the data source.
3. Select the type of object you want to reverse engineer, as shown in Figure three.

4. Select the tables and views that you want to reverse engineer.

5. Select the stored procedure to proceed to the project.

6. Do you want to add the reverse engineered item to the current project? Select to generate the diagram.

The result is roughly the same as the following.
