VMware Server virtualization Platform Contingency scenarios

Some time ago in response to customer requirements, write down the VMware Server virtualization platform Contingency plan, two sections, the first section of the overall platform to describe the emergency, the second section describes such as Vcenter Server,sql cluster, main AD and prepare AD contingency plan.

The VMware Server virtualization platform consists of high-performance servers and high-end storage devices that connect to shared storage devices through a SAN switch card, and all virtual machine data files are stored on storage devices to ensure high availability of data. Configure high Availability (HA) between server clusters, and once a physical server has a hardware failure, all virtual machines running on it are automatically migrated to other physical servers, and network outages are no longer than 10 minutes, ensuring high reliability of the business system.

Using the vsphere suite to pool physical servers, the Management server has vcenter servers, SQL virtual servers, and so on, which are important architectural components of the application cloud, as shown in Figure 1.

Platform Guarantee Scheme

Test the virtual machine for automatic migration to other servers by shutting down the physical server to apply cloud redundancy tests, as follows:

1. During the migration walkthrough, select the Cluster under the datacenter to confirm the HA status, as shown in Figure 1-1.

2. View virtual machine A on 10.1.1.151, as shown in Figure 1-2.
