VMware Harbor has now joined the rancher community Catalog_vmware

Harbor is the Open-source enterprise-class container registry project launched by VMware China Research and Development Center, and Harbor has officially joined rancher's community catalog. Rancher's community catalog are created by rancher, but by community partners and users.

For rancher users, the user does not need to perform any additional actions to configure it, as long as the visibility of the rancher Community catalog is enabled. Once the visibility setting is complete, each rancher user can choose to harbor and deploy it in the cattle environment. The following image is a screenshot of the Rancher Community catalog:

Please note that the current Harbor catalog entry only applies to the rancher cattle environment. In the future, if the community is interested and needs, we will extend it to the rancher Kubernetes and rancher swarm environment.

Initially, this catalog entry supports several Harbor deployment models (standalone and distributed). The latest version of this catalog entry has only one deployment model, and depending on the parameters you choose, Harbor will be deployed on a single Docker host in the cattle environment, or distributed across the host.

The Readme for the catalog entry will explain the various options and parameters available to you.

If you want to know the technical details of the Harbor catalog project, refer to my previous article "How to use VMware Harbor in Rancher Catalog", which contains a number of technical content, including challenges, tradeoffs, and limitations. Note that the harbor project in rancher Catalog is an open source V1.1.1 version at the time of this writing.

Finally, it must be suggested that the community of rancher catalog is supported by the community. The project Harbor entry in catalog also follows this support pattern, so if you have any questions about this, please ask questions in the GitHub project
