Fault symptom:
Lenovo G470 computers cannot connect to wireless networks and cannot access the Internet wirelessly.
Solution:
If you are installing Windows XP, perform the following operations:
Fault point 1: "Wireless icon Red Cross + no wireless signal found"
Solution:
1. Check whether the wireless switch is enabled. The Wireless NIC switch is on the front side of the machine to ensure that the dial has been switched to the right side (disabled on the left side and enabled on the right side), as shown in the figure below:
2. At the same time, press the Fn key + F5 key on the keyboard, and the position of the Fn key + F5 key on the keyboard, as shown in the figure below:
In this case, the power management interface is displayed to view the current wireless status, as shown in the following figure. The current status is "off" ---> click the button to enable it:
The following figure shows the interface to check whether the problem is resolved:
Fault point 2: "No wireless Nic icon in the taskbar"
Solution:
Check whether wireless network connection is enabled: Right-click "network neighbor" on the desktop ---> click Properties. If not, right-click to enable it, as shown in the figure below:
If the Nic device in the Device Manager is disabled, the taskbar does not have a wireless icon, right-click "My Computer" ---> "management" ---> "Device Manager" ---> "network adapter" ---> right-click the wireless network adapter and choose "enable.
If your system is Windows 7, perform the following operations:
Fault point 1: no wireless Nic icon in the taskbar
Solution:
If there is a wireless network connection in the network connection, right-click to enable it in gray, as shown in the figure below:
If there is no wireless network connection in the network connection, as shown in the figure below:
Restart the machine and press F2 to enter the BIOS. On the Configuration page, Wireless LAN Support must be in the Enabled status. If the Disabled status is changed, see the following figure:
